We always want to eat the best and go to the most amazing places in and around without thinking twice about health hazards .Yes the truth is that we consume a lot of food which restaurants/cafes don’t really bother about the after effects of one’s health.Excess amount of oil or sugar intake can seriously cause harm to the human body,even you know that but probably like always you wont pay any attention to it . Similarly like you or anyone i also have the same habit of not caring much about it and to be honest it’s next to impossible to find places which are providing a control and alternative in ingredients change.However off late i visited a place called ‘D-TALKS ADDA’ in Saltlake city,Kolkata which has taken a step in changing this thing by keeping a check on excess or absolute intake.Now if you are going to wonder how and what will the food taste like, then the answer to it is simply that here food is baked mostly in the menu items given and some have less oil or desi ghee sourced from Hariyana .There is Stevia instead of sugar added as a sweetener and for a better detox process Moringa oleifera does the job.Does that sound pretty good ? Now if it doesn’t then to make it sound good ,let me break in the interesting part which is the taste of the food and drinks here. And you will be surprised to know it maintains the deliciousness and flavour balance in the food and drinks both even after cutting off the excess stuff and applying the alternative health benefit ingredients.But my concern over here is going to be that how people are going to accept this place as a healthy place ? Well till date people believed in eating clean,but never really wanted to give this kind of a scene where our regular consumed food will have a change in ingredients for our good,so probably i would say it is a place close to being healthier than before as the Carbohydrates levels present in food is a little high for a health food claimed place. So saying that i can recommend this place not just as a healthy eating place but you can consider this like the places you go as always ,but don’t tell your brain and heart that it takes care of your health replacing regular ingredients that they crave for (Poor joke but appropriate).
Okay as said i visited this place so let me thank Debajyoti of Foodie Dada and of course the management for having me over to check D -TALKS ADDA to give my views about it.So to start it off i would like to talk about the decked up ambiance here,which is all sporty and theme set making one feel in a sports paradise.Right from the entrance you see hockey sticks replacing the door handles and after that you get to see the seating arrangements in all sports done touches to it with the use of bat ,ball,wickets,a wrestling arena as a bed sitting ,few tables spread around in a spacious surrounding .Then you see a centered mini racing track upwards hanging for attraction and a few bar stools in a single wheel cycle structure placed which makes one take a seat immediately and go click click.Not finishing there ,well there is also nice wooden high rise sitting in one of the corners which has a scenic backdrop and looks magnificent ,definitely recommended to occupy this place when you visit.And yes not to forget here the lights and music play a big role in completing the positive vibes.
Now coming to the service you get here by the staff and management,i would say it is warm and comforting which is a very good aspect and it is very nice to know they wont rush you out with the bill placed on your table as soon as your food is cleared.So that is one nice thing i liked where there is no hurry and letting one settle down and then leave. That is a good gesture and i appreciate that ,and expect all restaurants/cafes to do that provided if there isn’t any rush or people waiting to check in.Finally the food and drinks ,which is the major part of this place and my experience here has been good ,so have a look at what was tried out .
So the journey of eating started off with starters and drinks which were fresh and very well made. The drink which i had was a mixed fruit drink called SURYA NAMASKAR and had a mix of watermelon fruit,apples and similar like fresh cooling fruits in it and had a simply fruitful flavour in it.Moving on to the starters there were RAJMA CORN TIKKI,NACHOS, KNOCCI & BURRITO.The Tikki was made very intense with spice flavours in it and had a good crispy and crunchy affair.Served topped with sliced lime and onions this was pretty good,but don’t keep this dish waiting too long or else it might start not setting right.The next one which was the Nachos were good too and it is believed to be baked and tasted crispy and feel nice so now i have an open opinion on baking food to be good too.Moving on to the Knocci it seemed to kind of let me down as it did not look very appetizing to me maybe because it was displayed in a wide tray that was not interesting enough. It had cheese grated on it and looked like dumplings . Not very much recommended personally .And after that the last from the starters ,the Burrito was pretty impressive with it stuffing of veggies of course and layer of a paratha.
Coming to the mains now there was CHINESE SIZZLER,RICE BOWL&LACHA PARATHA WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY.The Sizzler was was very delicious having Manchurian,rice,veggies and was very well flavoured balanced along with more eats . I loved how the rice tasted so good along while it was sizzling on my plate .Moving on to the next one which was the Bowl ,well it is had rajma loaded on it and was served in a big quantity bowl. It was good and served along a tangy dip and it can be eaten if you are Rajma chawal lover ,still i would recommend it to be a little greasy or gravy loaded as it turns out to dry up in no time.Last form the mains Lacha paratha and Mushroom gravy turned out to be the best in my point of view. The gravy had such a yummy flavour to it that it totally went well with the paratha infact rice also can go well if you order separately with it.I enjoyed this one very much and it is highly recommended .
So after that course of eating,room was kept for the dessert in the belly ,and for the desserts came APPLE CREPE & SUNDAE. The Sundae looked immensely tempting with three scoops of ice-creams and dressed with fruits and candies this one was as wonderful as it looked from on a nice cocktail glass. And the Apple crepe was a surprise to me as i never have tried something like that before and it had such a smooth and warm stuffing of apple greasy portion inside a crepe and some barley sugar popping out.I just loved it to the max and was happy to try this out.
That ends the good time at D-TALKS ADDA and it is doing a bit different which one should experience and feel it.I was happy and contended that i visited this place as it adds to my list of unique places and this ones is special to stay .
